CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The man hit and killed while crossing a Carson City street Friday morning has been identified as 61-year-old Gordon Skogan.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong says Skogan, who was apparently homeless, was crossing Long Street at State Street, not in a crosswalk. The driver of a 1976 Chevrolet food truck says the sun blinded him when he hit the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver stopped, contacted law enforcement and then waited for emergency crews to arrive.

The accident happened about 7:30AM September 29, 2017.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information related to the crash is asked to call Trooper Hildebrand at 775-687-9617 regarding case number 1709002841.
