LOS ANGELES (AP) - An off-duty police officer working as security on a TV show set has shot and killed a dog in downtown Los Angeles.

The LAPD says the motorcycle officer got into an argument with a man late Friday morning when the dog attacked him.

The officer shot and killed the dog. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, and the man he was arguing with was detained.

Police could not immediately say whether the dog belonged to the man the officer was arguing with.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the Hulu TV "Chance" was filming its second season and the officer was providing security.
