LEMMON VALLEY, Nev. (KOLO)-- Firefighters held a brush fire in an empty lot in Lemmon Valley to about 20 feet by 20 feet Wednesday.

But the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District warned if it had not still been wet in the area and if it had happened earlier in the day they may have had to evacuate nearby homes.

The fire was reported near the dirt extension of Pan American Court and Budger Way at 5:45 p.m.

The fire agency said it was human-caused. Children were seen running from the area but when authorities talked to the children they denied any involvement, firefighters said.
