Holiday travel this year projected to break record numbers

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - This holiday season is projected to have a record-high volume for holiday travel.

According to Triple A, 107.3 million Americans are expected to travel for the Christmas holiday. It will be the highest year-end travel volume on record. The majority of travelers will be traveling by car with 97.4 million people expected to hit the road for the holidays. 6.4 million people are expected to travel by air. Since 2005, travel volume has grown by 21.6 million.
