U.S. 395 reopened to trucks in Reno area; high winds had closed road

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - High winds shut down truck traffic on U.S. 395 through Washoe Valley and from Reno north to the California state line from about 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Nevada Department of Transportation reports.

The National Weather Service reports wind gusts have reached 85 mph on Peavine Peak and 76 mph in Washoe Valley.

Regular passenger vehicle traffic was not restriced.

The California Department of Transportation does not report any restrictions.
