CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - Former Nevada Treasurer Kate Marshall has announced she is running for Lieutenant Governor to succeed Mark Hutchison, who is not seeking re-election.
Marshall, a Democrat, served as treasurer for eight years after being elected in 2006. Before that, she worked in the office of Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa.
She ran for Congress in the 2011 special election that led to Republican Mark Amodei winning the District 2 seat, and ran and lost for Secretary of State in 2014.
She has been endorsed for Lt. Governor by fellow Democrats including former US Senator Harry Reid, US Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Representatives Dina Titus and Jacky Rosen, and State Senate Majority Leader Aaron Ford.
Marshall is the only announced Democrat for the job. Republican State Senator Michael Roberson is also running.
