INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (KOLO)-- Fire forced the evacuation of sixteen Napa-area people from a vacation rental home Sunday in Incline Village.

The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District provided this photograph of the scene of a fire on Spencer Way in Incline Village.

The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District quickly contained the fire at 530 Spencer Way. It was reported at 5:33 a.m. February 4, 2018. While all eight adults and eight children evacuated safely, one adult was treated on scene for an undisclosed medical issue and released. Two dogs also made it out safely.

Some of the people in the home smelled smoke at around 3 a.m. but could not find a fire. They opened the windows to clear the smoke and that brought in oxygen that fed the fire, firefighter said. There were no smoke detectors downstairs.

The fire’s cause has not been determined.

The North Tahoe Fire Protection District from the California side of Lake Tahoe assisted on the fire.
