CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The Voltaire Fire in Carson City's Voltaire Canyon is fully contained after burning 517 acres, according to the US Forest Service Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. That's a slight update to the 504-acre estimate due to better mapping.

The Forest Service confirms campers burning human waste in an effort to leave no trace started the fire.
The fire was first reported in the Voltaire Canyon area about 7:45PM June 12, 2018.
Voluntary evacuations have been lifted for residents of the Clearview Street area, and for the Indian Colony on Curry and Rhodes Streets.
Multiple agencies fought the fire, including Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Bureau of Land Management, the US Forest Service, East Fork Fire, Nevada Division of Foresty, Carson Fire and North Tahoe Fire.
