Two brush fires break out in Reno, quickly contained

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Fire crews are mopping up two brush fires after they broke out just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2017 in the Reno area.

One brush fire broke out near the Walmart in the Damonte Ranch area, near South Virginia Street. The fire led a portion of the road to be closed in both directions. The Reno Fire Department said the cause of the fire has not been determined.

Fire officials said a downed power line is being blamed for another brush fire on Sunnyvale Avenue.

Fire crews said both fires are under control.
