Fire at Renown forces patient evacuations

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - An overnight fire at Renown Regional Medical Center forced patients on the third floor of the hospital to evacuate Tuesday.

Reno Fire says the fire was reported around 3 a.m. November 28, 2017 in the Oncology Ward.

Crews say the small fire started in a bathroom light fixture in one of the rooms and filled the halls with smoke. Patients on the third floor were evacuated while crews extinguished the fire.

Patients will be moved to different rooms in the hospital during the cleanup process.

No one was hurt in the fire.
