Douglas County detectives investigating Stateline killing

STATELINE, Nev. (KOLO) - Update (10/12/2017)

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office has located the car that was stolen from the victim of a homicide, Kevin LeRoy Edwards, 56, of Dublin, California.

The vehicle was found abandoned on October 6, 2017 in Wadsworth, Nevada.

Douglas Co. Sheriff's investigators are still looking for a person of interest who was seen with Edwards prior to his death.

Secret Witness is offering a cash reward for any information leading to an arrest and/or conviction.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help with the investigation into a killing at the Hard Rock Hotel in Stateline.

Investigators responded to reports of a death at 5PM October 3, 2017 to the Lake Tahoe casino property. They found 56-year-old Kevin LeRoy Edwards, who had been living in Reno, but whose driver's license listed Dublin, California.

No information has been released about a cause of death, but detectives are calling it a homicide.

Detectives are looking for a person of interest seen with the victim at the Hard Rock Hotel before he was killed. Detectives are also looking for the victim’s 2001 silver BMW 4-door sedan, which is missing. The attached photo is of a similar car. It is not registered and may have paper license plates.
