TONOPAH, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada Highway Patrol says a driver failed to stop at an intersection on SR376 and US6 outside of Tonopah, resulting in a fatal collision November 30, 2017.
Investigators say a 1998 Lexus ES was being driven south on SR376 when the driver failed to slow down or stop at the intersection of US6. At the same time, a 2001 GMC Yukon being driven east on US6 entered the intersection, with the driver unable to avoid a crash. The Yukon driver did not have a stop sign and had the right of way.
A passenger in the Lexus was killed.
The driver of the Lexus was transported to a hospital in Las Vegas with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver and passenger in the GMC sustained minor injuries.
The name of the person who died won't be released until family is notified.
