TRUCKEE, Calif. (KOLO)-- Friday evening update:
The U.S. Forest Service Truckee Ranger District reports the 83-acre controlled burn has been completed.
The U.S. Forest Service Truckee Ranger District plans an 83-acre controlled burn Friday near Stampede Reservoir.
It is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and continue through the day. The district said it will take place only if weather, fuel conditions and smoke dispersal are favorable.
The district warns smoke will be visible along parts of California 89 north of Truckee, Interstate 80, Russel Valley and the Stampede Reservoir area.
This is in addition to another burn in the area last week.
