RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Washoe County School District confirms a student at Pine Middle School has been detained after being found with a knife on campus.

No injuries have been reported.

A Code Red lockdown was initiated at the school early the afternoon of February 15, 2018. It was lifted within about half an hour when the student was detained.

The district sent a tweet saying all students and staff members are safe. Classes resumed as normal and students will be released at the usual time.

Reno Police say they were called to assist school police, but left the scene, making it strictly a school police case.
