RENO, Nev. (KOLO) -- Chinese New Year celebrations in the Biggest Little City are well underway. Thousands of people flocked to Northern Nevada to kick off the Year of the Dog.
"It's important to me because this is the time when everyone comes together and we all celebrate," said John Lee.
Attendees enjoyed watching lion dances and the casino floors around town were full.
A few of the casinos reported they are booked for the entire weekend and the buffet lines were long.
While the Super Bowl brings people from in and around Nevada. The Lunar New Year mostly brings people from Northern California, specifically the Bay Area.
