CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) - The male half of a couple accused of a Carson City burglary is behind bars in Carson City, with his girlfriend still in jail in Arizona.
21-year-old Devin Leeper is in the Carson City jail, awaiting a date for a preliminary hearing. He is charged with burglary.
Carson City detectives say February 24, 2018, the burglary took place on the 1700 block of Wellington West in Carson City, with detectives saying "a significant amount of property was taken from the residence." The investigation identified two suspects, 18-year-old Anna Devine and her 21-year-old boyfriend Devin Leeper. The two are first or second cousins, according to detectives.
After Carson detectives sent a flag for pawn shops to be on the lookout, police in Yuma were called by a shop there, and Anna Devine was arrested there on stolen property charges. She is still in jail in Yuma, awaiting extradition to Nevada, where she faces charges of burglary and obtaining money under false pretenses. She first is facing charges of trying to pawn stolen property in Arizona.
Leeper was reportedly at the shop with her, but was able to get away, and was arrested weeks later after getting off a bus in Louisiana, where he had traveled from Phoenix.
