Businesses booming for New Year's in Reno

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) Resorts and casinos in Reno are expecting to win big for New Year's weekend. The Peppermill Resort Spa Casino and the Atlantis Resort and Casino both say they're seeing an increase in guests from last year.

"We've just been crazy," says Katie Silva, communications manager at the Peppermill. "Every morning that I've been out on the floor it's been really, really busy."

The Atlantis and Peppermill are expecting to sell out of rooms by New Year's Eve.

"We have a couple of rooms but those are going fast," Traci Barnthouse, communications manager at the Atlantis, says.

The Peppermill has 1,624 rooms and the Atlantis has 824 rooms. The hotels are filling up quickly.

"There's a lot of rooms and that's a lot of people so it just means that Reno is really bustling right now," Silva says.

Both businesses are hosting events throughout the New Year's weekend and say there's plenty for guests to enjoy.
