Several rescued from overnight apartment fire in Reno

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The Reno Fire Department says several people were rescued from an apartment fire on Plumas Street late Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

The fire started just before 11:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Plumas Street. Firefighters say five people needed to be rescued from a second story balcony.

A man was transported to Renown with smoke inhalation and burn injuries. Four others, along with two Reno Police officers were treated for minor smoke inhalation at the scene.

Firefighters say two units of the three story apartment complex were destroyed and eight others were badly damaged by smoke and water.

A total of 15 people were displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Reno Fire Department.
