Girl Dies in Lovelock-Area Rollover

LOVELOCK, NV - A family of 5 from Alberta, Canada was involved in a rollover crash on I-80 Tuesday morning near Lovelock. The crash threw all three children from the car, killing one of them. The four survivors are at Renown with unknown injuries.

According to the NHP, the family’s SUV rolled over 17 miles east of Lovelock at about 9:30am. One of the children, a 15-year-old girl, died at the scene. The woman in the passenger seat had to be extricated from the car.

The silver Nissan Pathfinder was headed west when the driver lost control of the car, left the road, and rolled. Initial investigation shows that the driver’s side rear tire separated from the wheel and the driver lost control.

Nevada Highway Patrol’s Major Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T.) is investigating. Witnesses to the event or anyone with additional information should contact the DPS Communication Center at (775) 687-0400, regarding case #NHP-1007130596.
