RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - Did you know?
-- On average, every minute of walking can extend your life by 1.5 to 2 minutes.
-- Walking an extra 20 minutes each day will burn off 7 pounds of body fat per year.
-- To burn off 1 plain M&M candy, you need to walk the full length of a football field.
With those facts in mind; the Truckee Meadows Parks Foundation (TMPF) in cooperation with its park partners in Reno, Sparks, and Washoe County, and its sponsor Renown, is offering a series of free, interpretive walks every week this summer at a different area park. Every Thursday evening you can explore a new location and learn about the unique and varied natural and cultural history through our Discover Your Parks walks. Each walk is about one mile and will take about one hour.
