RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Nevada, a non-profit providing lodging for families with hospitalized children, is seeking players to join its 33rd Annual RMHC Golf Tournament Friday, June 1, 2018, at Red Hawk Golf and Resort. Funds stay locally to help those families staying at the Reno Ronald McDonald House. To meet the organization’s 2018 funding objectives, organizers are aiming to place 72 teams on both Red Hawk courses.

Sponsored in part by ABC Fire, Anderson Construction, Western Surgical Group, McKernan Packaging and Martin Brower, the tournament starts at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start, scramble format. Players will enjoy coffee and breakfast foods, refreshments, and have the chance to participate in games on both the Hills and Lakes courses. At the conclusion, players will enjoy a lunch and a brief awards ceremony. Attendees can purchase raffle tickets and bid on silent auction items.

Eagle Sponsorships begin at $5,000, with $4,040 being tax-deductible, foursomes begin at $1,250, $720 of which is tax-deductible, and individual players can register for $325, of which $275 is tax-deductible.

“The Golf Tournament allows us to continue our five programs,” said Brock Marquez, president of the board of trustees at RMHC® Northern Nevada. “We celebrated our 30th anniversary last year and while we’re saddened that families need our services, we’re honored to care for them while their child is in the hospital.”

The 33rd Annual RMHC Golf Tournament serves as the non-profit’s oldest fundraiser, raising funds to build the 12-bedroom home in the first place and comprising a significant portion of annual funding. The House is working to reach new companies who are looking to support community initiatives.
