The RTC 2017 Annual Pavement Preservation Program is now underway. The program for this construction season includes corrective maintenance (asphalt concrete patching) of regional roads that require short-term maintenance measures to improve ride quality and durability until complete reconstruction can occur (approximately 3-5 years).
This work is necessary because of the severe winter we experienced that has resulted in accelerated deterioration of those regional roads near the end of their life cycle. The roads to be included in this year’s program are located throughout the City of Reno, City of Sparks and Washoe County. A sample of roadways included are: Keystone Avenue, 4th Street and Steamboat Parkway in Reno; Sparks and Vista Boulevards in Sparks, and several roads in Incline Village.
Funding for the project is made possible with RTC-5 Fuel Tax revenues.
