RENO, Nev. - The sixth annual 'A Taste of Reno Tahoe' was held at the Atlantis Sunday evening as a fundraiser for the Reno Rotary Club
Jim Annis, the Program Chair for the Rotary Club, says this is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
"It allows us to sponsor many local events in our community," he said.
Twelve wineries from California and Nevada were paired with twelve local restaurants to demonstrate how a delicious meal can become even better with the right wine.
Lynn Marie Kremers, a Wine Broker from Eldorado County, says this event is a great way to introduce people to small, boutique wineries.
"Eldorado County is known as Nevada's backyard of wineries and we have many people who come and visit us so we are fortunate to be able to come to them now," she said"
In addition to the pairings, guests were able to bid on silent auction items donated from local businesses. One of the bigger items was a wine wagon donated by a local Home Depot, filled with at least twenty bottles of wine, plus everything you needed to enjoy them.
Annis says the Rotary club is a great organization that not only changes the lives of people receiving help from them, but also those giving their time.
