Students and teachers at Dilworth Stem Academy in Sparks have come together for a unique fundraiser to help two students in desperate need.

The fundraiser is Donkey basketball, and it will be played this Sunday inside the school's gym. The teams will be teachers vs. students.

Jonathon De Leon, a 7th grader, underwent emergency heart surgery recently. Half of the money raised will be given to his family.

The other student, 8th grader Junior Parra has a life-threatening illness. He will actually be participating in the event on Sunday. Half of the money will be given to help with his medical bills.

Teachers at the school say the students and the staff have come together to support the two students.

Tickets for the event cost $5 for children K-6th grade. $7 for 7th-12th grade. $9 for adults.

Dilworth Stem Academy is located at 255 Prater Way, Sparks, NV. The game starts at 2 p.m.
