RENO, NV - Whole Foods in Reno has chosen the SPCA of Northern Nevada as part of its Nickels for Non-Profits program. When customers take in their own bags for groceries, they have the option of receiving 5¢ credit, per bag, or donating it to the SPCA. The program runs through January 14, 2014.

All beef, chicken, pork and turkey in Whole Foods fresh meat cases must come from producers that have achieved certification to Global Animal Partnership’s 5-Step™ Animal Welfare Rating. Whole Foods' mission is important to the SPCA mission, because "we all believe animal welfare is extremely important, to all animals. We encourage the community to help support us by participating in this program."

The SPCA relies solely on donations from the community. If you would like to make a donation please visit spcanevada.org or call 775-324-7773 x204.
