The SPCA of Northern Nevada’s (SPCA) Angel Tree promotion is available now through December 25, 2013. The Angel Tree is an opportunity for the community to sponsor the care of an animal at our shelter through our kennel and cat colony sponsorship program. The average cost to care for an animal during their stay at the SPCA is $350. By sponsoring an animal people can provide them with medical attention, microchipping, food, lodging, grooming, loving attention, and help them find their forever home.
When they sponsor an animal at the shelter they will receive an engraved heart on either the dog kennels or cat colonies at the SPCA for one year with their name or the name of someone they wish to honor. They will receive a handmade ornament with a picture of their sponsored animal for themselves or as a gift for someone special. They will be notified when their sponsored animal is adopted. As an option they can be included on our sponsored animal board at the shelter and online, and in our general and donor newsletters in January.
To sponsor an animal just fill out the sponsorship application available online at spcanevada.org, at the Stanley James Walker Pet Adoption Center 4950 Spectrum Blvd or the SPCA Thrift Stores at 4th and Vine and 1270 E. Plumb Lane. Information on animals available for sponsorship can be found at the above locations or online.
Groups and organizations are encouraged to sponsor together as a group. Consider sponsoring an animal as a gift for another animal lover in your life or in memory of a beloved pet.
The SPCA relies solely on donations from our community. If you would like to make a one-time, monthly or yearly donation, please visit spcanevada.org or call 775-324-7773 x204. The community can also donate from our wish list to put under the tree. The shelter is always in need of dog and cat food, bleach, hand wipes, paper towels and other necessities. A full list of items is available online.
