RENO, NV - The Reno Rodeo Foundation’s Denim Drive runs through December 19th, and consists of more than 115 "Denim Drop" locations all over northern Nevada.

People can drop off jeans, socks and underwear for kids who really need them.

The Denim Drive was developed because The Reno Rodeo Foundation saw that local children in protective custody do not have enough clean, new clothing. Children are rescued from their homes, most often at night, and brought to the Kids Kottage, sometimes hungry with just the clothes on their backs.

"There are so many wonderful charities that will be able to provide plenty of toys for the children, but we found the kids in protective custody need clothes, especially jeans, shirts, socks and underwear," says Marie Baxter, Executive Director of the Reno Rodeo Foundation and coordinator of the Denim Drive.

People can help by purchasing new denim clothing, white socks and underwear in any infant, children or adolescent sizes, and dropping them at designated "denim drop" locations.

You can also “Donate a Dollar for Denim” at all Scolari’s Food & Drug and Sak’ N Save grocery stores and all Nevada State Bank branches in Northern Nevada. 100% of online or cash donations are used to purchase clothing.

The Reno Rodeo Denim Drive serves 13 Northern Nevada counties. What is collected in each county stays in each county.
