Nevada Humane Society is already seeing an influx of kittens at the shelter and is in need of donations of kitten food.
“Kitten season normally runs from May through October but has started early this year,” said Nikole Nichols who oversees the foster care program at Nevada Humane Society. “This community has always been very generous in providing food for homeless pets, so we are asking for donations of food and milk replacement for kittens.. We need your help now for the kittens.
Needed items include:
· Dry food labeled specifically for kittens
· Canned kitten food
· Kitten Milk Replacement (KMR)
· Cat toys
· Donations of plain, clay cat litter (kittens cannot use scoopable litter)
Donations are tax-deductible and may be delivered daily, between 11:00 am and 6:30 pm, to Nevada Humane Society’s shelter at 2825 Longley Lane, Reno, between Rock Blvd. and Mira Loma Ave. On Saturdays, the shelter opens an hour earlier at 10:00 am.
This kitten food collection drive will run through April 16 and culminate in the annual Kitten Shower event that day.
