RENO, NV - Pearl is a sweet, orphaned Boxer who has survived a rough time on the streets and is now in need of care to give her a chance to spend her senior years in a loving home.

“After just seeing her physical condition, it is easy to see Pearl has obviously been bred many times. She also has several serious health conditions, ranging from obesity, skin problems, a heart murmur and more,” explained Denise Stevens, Operations Director for Nevada Humane Society.

“She is being cared for by our veterinary team but she will face a long road to recovery.” Due to the extensive amount of treatment Pearl will receive, Nevada Humane Society is asking the community to open their hearts and donate towards the cost of her treatment.

“Pearl is one of many pets arriving at Nevada Humane Society in need of serious medical care. The cost of treating them puts a huge strain on our resources. In the past our community has been so kind in helping us save innocent lives, and we hope that animal lovers will continue that trend by making a donation to Pearl,” said Bonney Brown, Executive Director for Nevada Humane Society.

If you would like to help with the cost of medical treatment for Pearl or other injured pets at the shelter, please make a donation today to Nevada Humane Society’s Emily’s Fund for Injured Pets. Contributions are tax-deductible and can be sent to Nevada Humane Society at 2825 Longley Lane, Reno, NV 89502 or called in by phone at 775-856-2000.

There are also many, many dogs and cats in need of homes. If you can consider adopting please visit the shelter.
