RENO, NV - Residents of Sparks, Wingfield Springs and the North Valleys will soon have a more convenient location to drop off their gently used clothing, furniture, shoes, and other household items. A brand new donation drop-off center for St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop is open at 4670 Sparks Boulevard. The drop-off center is located along a major commute route in the Scolari’s parking lot near the intersection of Sparks Boulevard and Disc Drive.

The drop-off center will be open Mondays through Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Local residents who are cleaning out their garages, de-cluttering their homes, or downsizing their clothing collection can take their items to the drop-off center, which opened in September. The downtown St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop store location will also continue accepting donations during store business hours, Mondays through Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Donations sold in our St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop go directly toward changing the lives of local people in need. 100% of profits from Thrift Shop sales are used to fund the eight other free giveaway programs of Catholic Charities, including St. Vincent’s Dining Room and St. Vincent’s Food Pantry. Just one bag of donated clothing equates to ten hot meals for a hungry person. Two small pieces of furniture is enough to provide employment assistance for 12 jobless Nevadans. Three pairs of shoes equals one month’s worth of food for a family who visits St. Vincent’s Food Pantry. St. Vincent’s Thrift Shop management expects the new drop-off center to double the number of donations coming into the Thrift Shop, meaning thousands more people each year can be helped by getting them the resources they need to change their lives for good.

Catholic Charities & the St. Vincent’s Programs is holding a grand opening celebration for the drop-off center on Sunday, October 6th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
