RENO, NV - Darlene Fox says she still needs more food, furniture, children’s books, and games, new clothing, furniture, toiletries, and money to open up the Angels in the Community Center in two weeks.
She says people have contributed shelving, paint, and office furniture to make the center look welcoming.
What she needs now are companies and organizations she can depend upon to supply her center with the items it needs on a weekly basis.
She says according to her business plan, no one will be turned away because they’ve been helped by her or another organization.
She says she needs monetary donations as well to pay utility bills and rent
“In order for me to open up in 2 weeks I have to have fully loaded shelves. And I don't have that as you can see. So I'm asking all of you people out there to please help out,” says Fox.
Fox says once open she hopes to feed families two times a month
The center, located on Broadway in Reno, will be open Monday through Thursday.
She says she is one of the few pantries in the area that has storage for fresh meat, vegetables and dairy.
