High Sierra Animal Rescue (HSAR) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1999.
Located in Plumas County, we are dedicated to saving the lives of homeless adoptable pets and caring for them until they can be placed in new loving homes.
We always welcome donations and volunteers.

I adopted a rescue from High Sierra 2 years ago. I highly recommend them!!! I've got the most loving dog around!!! It's funny how when you lose a pet, you think you can never love another one like you did this one.....and it's just not the case! One thing that struck me, when we met our Holly for the first time, was how attached she was to the gentleman from High Sierra who presented her to us. You could tell she was well attended to by him. High Sierra had Holly up to date with shots and spayed and chipped, she had a pretty collar they let her keep and really went out of their way to meet us half way....and not drive to their center. We couldn't be more delighted with our new companion. Thank you to High Sierra Animal Rescue for taking care of Holly and providing her a home until we could find each other.
