Reno Police are eager to speak with two teen girls they believe are the victims of an attempted kidnaping.

Police think the would-be kidnapper approached the girls Sunday afternoon on Box Canyon Drive. Witnesses say the suspect Heydeman Argueta-Godoy pulled up next to the girls, attempting to get them in his vehicle. A resident who witnessed the attempt stepped in to escort the girls away from the area and the suspicous man. The girls were last seen walking in the 9600 block of Oakley Lane.

Later in the evening, around 7:19 PM, police think Argueta-Godoy attempted to kidnap another victim. The 40-year-old Reno resident was jogging near Carat and Double Diamond. She says Argueta-Godoy stopped his truck in front of her, then got out and attempted to force her into the passenger side of the vehicle. She says after she refused he made a second attempt. A driver passing by witnessed the attempted abduction and stopped to help, giving the victim a ride to safety.

Using witness information, police located Argueta-Godoy Sunday night in a parking lot in the 700 block of South Meadows Parkway. At that time the victim identified him as her attacker. Police are continuing to investigate this incident and similar crimes. Anyone who may have additional information is asked to call the Reno Police Department at 334-2121, or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
