The wishes of hundreds of military families are coming true this Veterans Day. ABC's "Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition" is teaming up with the rehabilitation organization "Rebuilding Together" to help veterans fix up their homes.

Heroes at Home kicked off today, with the repair and decorating of the home of Sergeant Jonathan Vanderwert. He and his family, with nine children, moved into a dilapidated home in need of major repair and remodeling to save money. However, in August of 2007, their plans to fix their home were placed on hold when Sergeant Vanderwert was called into active duty with the Minnesota National Guard to serve a 15-month tour in Iraq.

The Heroes at Home team will continue to grant wishes into the holiday season by reaching out to an additional 130 deserving veterans’ families in need to rebuild their homes and ensure that they and their families, all whom are sacrificing for our country, are living in safe, warm, and comfortable homes.

You can help grant the wishes of military families in need, through Heroes at Home, by making a donation at Sears’ stores or its website.
