UNR Ski Team Hosts Inaugural Scotch and Ski Kick Off Party

Holiday Sip N’ Shop Wine Walk

Stroll through Riverwalk District shops, cafes and more, enjoy live entertainment, festive cocktails and wine from more than 20 downtown businesses in a Holiday Sip N’ Shop Wine Walk Sat., Nov. 21 from 2 to 5 p.m. in downtown Reno. Participants can enter for a chance to win a variety of prizes and help out a good cause at the same time.

For $20, individuals age 21 and older with a valid photo ID, get a wine glass, a wrist band and a map of the merchants pouring wine. Riverwalk District wine walks benefit a different charity every month. Parking is available in public lots.

The November Sip N’ Shop benefits Catholic Community Services which provides food, clothing, shelter and a helping hand to all people in need.
Sip N’ Shop Supports “Holiday Harvest Happening.”

Riverwalk District merchants have teamed with the West Street Market to help promote the “Holiday Harvest Happening” supporting the Food Bank of Northern Nevada on Sat., Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The event includes entertainment, food vendors, workshops, music, face painters and more.

Both the Sip N’ Shop and the “Holiday Harvest Happening” are designed to introduce people to the more than 45 unique boutiques, restaurants, spas and entertainment options available in downtown Reno.

“Riverwalk District shops are just filled with unique items,” said Valerie Neish, president of the Reno Riverwalk Merchants Association. “Our friendly shop keepers can even help you find the perfect gift.”

The Riverwalk District is also a sponsor for the Nov. 28th Holiday Parade, “Holidazzle” in downtown Reno.

HOPEworldwide Drive-Up Coat Drive

Our 501(c)3 organization, HOPE worldwide - Reno Chapter, along with the national organization One Warm Coat, is holding a drive-up coat drive at the Homeless Shelters operated by Volunteers of America at 315 Record St. in Reno on Saturday, November 21, 2009. The event is from 10am to 3pm. All gently-used coats, jackets and other cold weather clothing (hats, gloves, etc.) donated will be given FREE, directly to the homeless in the Reno area through the shelters.
