This Thursday, November 12, local business owner JD HOSS teams up with the Sierra Green Building Association to present on the local green building movement.
Green building is becoming more and more popular in the Truckee-Tahoe region, but needs to continue to reach more people. JD HOSS will explore how to bring the green building movement to “normal people” – your average local homeowner, looking to improve their home.
You can learn more by attending the Sierra Green Building Association Speaker Series this Thursday, November 12 at the Cedar House Sport Hotel from 6:00-7:00pm. Donations accepted: $5 SiGBA members, $10 non-members.

The Department of Business & Industry (B&I) is holding a Thanksgiving food drive beginning on Monday, November 9, to help needy families during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Canned and boxed food is being collected.
Donations will be accepted during business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Monday, November 9, through Friday, November 20, 2009. To distribute the donated items, B&I is partnering with HELP of Southern Nevada (HELP) in the south and Friends in Service Helping (FISH) in the north. The food collected will be distributed by HELP and FISH to struggling Nevadans during Thanksgiving week.
