OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged a 15-year-old Oakland boy as an adult in the killings of his adoptive mother and father, a San Francisco jail psychologist, whose bodies were found stuffed in the trunk of the family car.
Moses Kamin was charged Tuesday with two counts of murder.
The Oakland Tribune reports that police were alerted after co-workers of 54-year-old Robert Kamin grew concerned when he didn't show up for work Friday.
Officers searched the home and found the bodies of Robert Kamin and 50-year-old Susan Poff under blankets in a PT Cruiser parked outside the house that someone had tried to set on fire.
Police say Moses Kamin later confessed to strangling his parents. Prosecutors did not immediately return a call seeking to determine if Moses Kamin has a lawyer.
Investigators believe he may have been motivated by tension over school suspensions.
