Recent Molestation Arrest Leads to Swift Firing of Another LA Teacher
The child lewd conduct arrest of a Los Angeles elementary teacher has led schools superintendent John Deasy to move swiftly and fire a high school teacher who is being sued for allegedly having sex with students.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - The child lewd conduct arrest of a Los Angeles elementary teacher has led schools superintendent John Deasy to move swiftly and fire a high school teacher who is being sued for allegedly having sex with students.
The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that 59-year-old Vance Miller was pulled from his Hamilton High School classroom in 2010, before Deasy became superintendent.
A police investigation didn't result in criminal charges.
Two former students, now adults, say Miller had sex with them while they were students at Hamilton. Their lawyer has filed a damage suit on behalf of the students.
Miller has been paid since removal as Hamilton High's music teacher.
Deasy reviewed the case this week and decided there was enough
information to fire Miller.
