SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - Several hundred anti-war protesters have gathered in San Francisco on the seventh anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq.

At a rally in Civic Center Plaza Saturday afternoon, the protesters demanded an immediate end to the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan and said money on the wars would be better spent on health care, jobs and education.

Several protesters said the rally was smaller than similar events they had attended since the war in Iraq began.

Seventy-two-year-old Wes Harrison of Sunnyvale carried a sign that read, "Soldiers Die, Corporations Profit" on one side and "War Is a Racket; Let Our Soldiers Know" on the other.

Harrison said most people's lives have not been affected by the wars, so they have no connection to them.
