LAWNDALE, Calif. (AP) - A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy has been released from the hospital after a shooting that left another man dead.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Aura Sierra says the deputy was released
Wednesday after being treated for a shoulder wound.

The deputy, whose name has not been released, was shot Tuesday
night in Lawndale, a suburb 20 miles south of downtown Los Angeles.

Sierra says another man was killed but would not say whether the
deputy was the shooter. She had no other details.
