ANZA, Calif. (AP) - Divers have recovered the body of a hunter who drowned while trying to retrieve a goose from a pond in a desert area southeast of Palm Springs.

Riverside County sheriff's officials say 32-year-old Leland Gerald Coulston's body was found by divers Saturday.

Deputies say Coulston had gone into the Anza-area pond Thursday to retrieve a goose that he killed, but had difficulty in the water and yelled to his wife for help.

State fire crews searched the pond for about 90 minutes before requesting help from the Riverside County sheriff's divers.
