LYNWOOD, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a 16-year-old boy has been shot and killed as he sat on a porch in Lynwood.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy Denise Fuchs (FYOOKS') says
Raymond Frias was visiting a female friend just before midnight
Thursday when a male suspect walked up to him and fired a single
shot into his upper body.

Fuchs says that Frias had refused to respond to the shooter's question "Where are you from?"

Frias was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Fuchs says the shooter fled and no suspects have been arrested.

She says the girl was not hurt.
