BYRON, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a woman is dead and her son
critically injured after their personal watercraft collided with a 23-foot boat in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Contra Costa County Sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said 47-year-old Jill Hullen was riding with her 14-year-old son when the crash occurred Saturday afternoon near the waterfront community of Discovery Bay.

Lee said rescuers airlifted the boy to Children's Hospital Oakland shortly after the crash but could not locate his mother for several hours. He was listed in critical but stable condition.

Divers found Hullen's body in the water about 60 feet from shore
three hours after the crash. Lee said no one on the boat was injured.

No comment was made that the boat that hit Jill Hullen (my sister) or Trent Hullen (my nephew) left the scene of the accident. The 7 people on the boat testified that they say the boat hit the waverunner. If their statements are correct, they knew that there were injured people in the water. Why would they leave the scene of the accident? Why is the sheriff's office not reporting the facts.
