DETROIT (AP) - Three people briefed on the matter say Toyota Motor Corp. has received clearance from federal regulators on a fix for the company's sticky gas pedals.

Two dealers said Saturday that Toyota plans to make the announcement Monday morning. One says that dealers could get parts
as early as Thursday or Friday.

A Department of Transportation official confirmed that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration did not object to Toyota's repair plans. Technically NHTSA's approval is not required, but Toyota would be reluctant to proceed if the government raised objections.

All three people asked not to be identified because the announcement had not been made.

Telephone messages left with Toyota spokesmen were not immediately returned.

Toyota has recalled 4.2 million vehicles worldwide because the gas pedal systems can stick.

Would you guys stop with this Toyota recall crap!!! Do you people have any idea how many recalls every car manufacture has?? Probably don't have a clue do you??do you guys know how many people receive letters for recalls and never even care to have them done!!! Why don't we focus on the people that are driving cars that are unsafe and are too cheap to replace their bald tires or fix their metal to metal brakes or real safety issues that can harm our loved ones on the road...

The list you posted listed the 2010 Highlander crossover. Is this a different model from the 2010 Highlander Limited or does the crossover have nothing to do with the model type?
