With the news that a young, attractive co-ed is selling her virginity to the highest bidder... What I want to know is your view on selling something that is so sacred? Is this a sign of a change in our times? Is society loosing it's moral values?.... Is it Right or is it wrong? Is this girl simply using the whole event as a publicity stunt?.... Get debating people and "have your say!"
"A 22-year-old brunette is auctioning off her virginity in a bid to pay for her college tuition. The winner of the auction will get to consummate the relationship at the brothel. "I don't have a moral dilemma with it," media quoted Dylan, as saying. "We live in a capitalist society. Why shouldn't I be allowed to capitalize on my virginity? I understand some people may condemn me. But I think this is empowering. I'm using what I have to better myself," she added. The girl, who already has a bachelor's degree in women's studies at Sacramento State, wants to study further for a master's in marriage and family therapy. An increasing number of female students are resorting to prostitution or other jobs in sex industry to pay rising university tuition fees, a study by Kingston University in UK suggested. In a survey that asked 130 students whether they knew any friends involved in the sex industry, one in 10 said they knew of students who had stripped, lap danced or worked at massage parlors and escort agencies to support themselves."

ya, sex doesn't really mean anything to kids today. Its just something they do for fun when they get bored, doesn't mean anything till they reck their lives. Why would they find anything wrong with it?
Posted by: Alena Location: San Antonio I think that it is her body and she should get to decided what to do with it. If she wants to sell her virginity then I say more power to her. It is something that she alone is going to have to live with and it in no way impacts anyone else's life. Posted by: tom Location: goldcoast even a guy could do this , its not using what you have to better yourself, its selling yourself out and even a guy could get some sick bloke to bid on sucking his penis, its sick and it will not be kind to her in the future, slut Posted by: yhoselynn Location: Chicago Illinois I'd Do it for my familiy... yup yup Posted by: no name Location: usa I think it's fine. I'm 19 and I'm a virgin too, and at this moment if I got a high enough offer I think I would take. I don't feel like it makes you any less of a woman, and I understand that in many ways it is prostitution, but I also think that prostitution is a lot of things like getting things by making others believe that they will get some sort of compensation and I know that in this case the deal is money for sex but after carefuly reflecting on it I have to honestly say I still think that selling your virginity is brilliant for a high enough offer because annything less than 3 million for a really pretty totaly clean girl is just stupid. Posted by: James Location: Reno Instead of "Natalie", maybe go by "Roxanne", like the whore in that Police song. Posted by: Rosy Location: Dallas As much as I would do such a thing like that to get me out of my debt....I personally wouldnt at all...whether the guy is going to get check I still wouldnt do it. I think it is wrong but its all her...selling what you what is..sorry to say...is straight prostituting yourself...might as well be a stripper or an escort. Posted by: sitiveni Location: fiji its wrong, its a respective part of body. These new trend makes picture of people worst. Posted by: Jenny Location: Reno I think that it's appalling that someone in "Women's Studies" would find no moral objections to this. Women's rights are just now to the point where we can vote and get equal jobs for equal pay, not that we are idiots that should be viewed for sexual purposes. Natalie -- Thanks for setting back the last 160 years of sufferage work so you wouldn't owe any student loans. Bimbo. And who do you actually think is going to hire you with a reputation for sleeping your way to the top? What would all of you who think she's in the right, think about a black man selling himself to be lynched so he could pay for his student loans? Who cares about morals anymore if you can sign away your dignity for a paycheck though, right? Somehow I don't think that fits into the founding fathers vision of the American Dream. Posted by: Too much Location: Reno Who's gonna have the last laugh when she confesses later on that she lost her virginity 5 years ago? Posted by: Jules Location: Sparks Morals played such a huge part when we where growing up, and i mean a long time ago. We where taught to respect our elders, we where taught to look out for that one man, and that's what it tended to be, "your man!" and you where to be together for life! Now you see all of the celebrities getting together one week and breaking up the next week, what an example for our younger generations! Come on kids, have respect for yourself! After all this publicity, i don't know how this girl could look anyone in the eye's without thinking, "Do people think i am a whore?!" Posted by: Michele Location: Reno Yeah...not the smartest thing to do when you're getting a master's in marriage and family therapy, but the flip side of that is she could just donate her virginity away to the next idiot that comes along, and where would that get her? Posted by: Maria Selling your body and turning it into an object for someone else to use is the saddest, most downgrading thing ever. Your body is your own, a sacred gift and Ms. Dylan is just making excuses so she doesn't have to use the word "prostitution". People are saying it's better than losing it to some guy in a backseat but what about those of us that valued our first time? Not everyone had a bad time losing their virginity nor do they regret it. Just WAIT until it's with the right person! Anyone that regretted their first time just made a really stupid decision - and it shouldn't be used as an excuse to sell your virginity. Posted by: notsurprised Location: Fernley not surprised by this at all. The next generation has so many with no morals. Look at the "girls gone wild" stuff. It's sad that so many were not brought up to respect themselves. Posted by: Rich Location: Reno She will be able to go to come out of school NOT strapped with student loans. Most of us lose our virginity to those that we do not spend our life with anyway so what is the big deal? An evening of protected sex in a controlled environment that will pay for her schooling. I think she is a smart girl. Posted by: Grace Location: England Does what she is studying have anything to do with this?! Watch out fellas! Posted by: Gregg Location: Silver Springs, NV At the level of morals and respect to others that the current generation of teenagers have adopted, that this co-ed is willing to sell her virginity should not be surprising. She may have a goal to improve her education, but it is sad that the person who she will have sex with, will 'only' be looking to deflower a virgin most likely for personal braggin rights, and that it will be in a sterile environment where feelings are seldom had. Posted by: Ray Smith Location: Sun Valley, NV. Let the first journalist that was still a virgin at 20yrs. old cast the first stone. Posted by: ANON Location: Elko What a hottie, if i jad some spare cash i would be bidding like crazy, she is beautiful! fair play to her! Posted by: Lucy Location: Reno What a digusting young girl!! Does she have nothing better to do!? |
