Missing Teen: What's Your Take Surrounding The Disappearance Of Brianna Denison?

Nineteen year old Brianna Denison of Reno disappeared early on a Sunday morning on January 20th, 2008 after staying the night at a friend's home near the University of Nevada , Reno . From information within the news so far, what is your take on the missing teen's mysterious disappearance?

Suspicious details about her disappearance have sent family members on a nationwide hunt for the missing teen.

Brianna is a student studying psychology at Santa Barbara City College in California .

She came home this weekend to visit her old Reno High School friends and her family.

Brianna and a group of friends went for a night out at a local casino in downtown Reno .

this is like one of the most painful stories bc i had a friend that dissapeared... but she wasn't in reno and she was found dead... which is so difficult on family and close friends so what i am going to tell u to do is to interveiw everyone again now since it happened in the beginning of the year. sometimes they feel guilty bc they havnt founed anything... and remember her "FRIEND DNA!" was all over her panties! and i dont really think she was feeling her up so if you are going to interview anyone again i would totally interview her first!

Posted by: gut insincta Location: nevada
I have had a feeling since day one that her "friend" knows more than what she's saying, Who LOCKS their friend out of their room and sleeps threw and break in and an attack? Look at her eyes in the picture of her and Bri. She is evil and jealous. She admitted being jealous of her in an interview. Kind of weird that out of 4 girls living in that house, that her DNA was found on the panties found with Bri's body. JUSTICE 4 Bri??????????????? Look a little closer.

i saw on another website a girl who left a comment was surprised that they were saying that the "pink panther" panties were "disinctive" because of the design.to me they are because i've never seen a pair like that,i think i'd be able to recognize ANY pair of panties that i own.especially those.but the girl went on to say that the reason she was surprised was because she currently owned a pair of the same panties, except they were WHITE and that they didnt seem "distinctive" or uncommon to her because she bought them at KOHLS.who knows how long ago kohls had these panties, for how long or how many they sold.i'm not sure exactly what to do with this info,i've just been thinking about it since i read it.to me the panty design seems uncommon.according to this girl, you could buy them at kohls, making them not so rare.I THINK ANYONE THAT OWNED THESE WOULD RECOGNIZE THEM.could they be stolen from a store, put on a victim(in the dark?)maybe why bri's dna was on her friends panties?a pantyfetish??

negative comments are selfish and out of fear.its hard for me to believe that someone that didnt care about this case in some way would actually take the time to post on this blog.i think the bitterness/bickering come from fear and the urge to see an end to this.most of us feel like we've done as much as we can, with the LIMITED details we've been provided.its frustrating.they want the community to help, but just keep telling us the same facts, even when its supposed to be an update.i understand why but HELP US HELP YOU!i'm so sick of the ribbon thing and wish i could ignore the negative comments.with that i will only say that EVERYTIME i see a blue ribbon i picture her face and am revived with the power to NOT forget.i've seen so many different ways that people have displayed the ribbons in her honor, and even if i didnt know their purpose,i think they look pretty on my blossoming tree.on more than 1 occasion i have picked up ribbons that were on the ground around town.dont be so lazy....

i made it a daily habit to check this blog, and i'm GLAD to see that there are new comments.i was worried when the comments slowed down,at 1 point they stopped for a few days, which i so hoped would NOT happen.i still think about this little girl ATLEAST once a day,yet i never met her in this life.from day 1,i knew i had to be involved,i felt like i knew her. because we didnt meet-up in this life i thought maybe we knew each other in a past life.i felt(and still feel)like i owe it to her to stay involved and to help anyway i possibly can.i constantly see comments from people that never knew her that are deeply affected by whats happened.so many people want to help.in MY mind and what I believe is that brianna was a person who did great things in this life and in PAST lives, someone that was looked up to and loved which is why many random strangers feel connected deeply to this case.much like being in karmic-debt.these are MY thoughts and noone has to agree or comment on them.....cont

I have heard rumors that a woman was raped this last Sat. 5/3. I havn't seen anything in the news yet. I wonder if they are waiting for the DNA., and if it's the same person. ????? God I hope not!!

Posted by: audrey Location: reno
just as anyone deserves this much attention, this should show that lets keep ourselves safe, lets keep the women in our lives close, let brianna live in our hearts lets find this man and not give up

If I were to put a religious spin on this entry I would put a spin that goes something like this, My Grandmother told me that, when God commands that the gates of HELL be opened to dispose of a sole that has no compassion for Life, especialy for one as fragile as that of a young women in her blossoming years that has great contributions for mankind and humanity in her prescious smile and loving heart, The Earth Does tremble as the sole that took that gift from his creation is thrown into the Lake of fire for all of eternity. Then closing the Gates. With a whisp of wind and The Grace of another day like today to insure us of beautiful things to come.Encompassing the beautiful sole of Briannas to be brought forth another lifetime. or, The tectonic plates shifted and the creeps still at large plotting another abduction, Murder. Let's keep pressing this issue. Americas Most Wanted, a personal "Thank You!" let's get this guy.

Posted by: Doug Location: Sparks
He's still out there and I'm still watchin. I'm knowing we all are.

Posted by: KIM Location: RENO
I'm so ashamed by all this bickering back and forth. I logged on to check the BRIANNA DENISON BLOG. All I find are worthless, derogatory remarks. Someone's child was murdered. Somesone's Grandchild was murdered. I suggest if you have nothing nice or comforting to say, please blog your crap else where. For God's sake, her family might read this. Shame Shame Shame on you!!

Posted by: Anon Jenny, you are way off base. It is just not a focus on her. It is a focus to protect our children and ourselves. She is a symbol to not forget he is still out there. Duh...What do you want them to do forget about her and hope he doesn't strike again? Do you not know that he struck a girl at 4:30 in the afternoon who was walking down the street and oh yes she wasn't even drinking. Do not be so naive to believe just because a girl isn't drinking she is safe. No one is safe and don't think you are either just because you aren't out partying. Yes, we need to teach responsible behavior but just because a person doesn't party does not mean she is safe. Also you are very inconsiderate and that is so not right! Just think if it were your daughter or sister or friend how hurt you would be by your rude comments. Keep your rudeness to your self.

I Hope Brainna Denison's Killer is Punished Captured,Placed Under Arrest,Prosecuted To The Fullest Extent Of The Law,Brought To Justice,Indicted In A Court Of Law And Put In Jail Permantly For The Abduction And The Murder Of Brianna Denison Right Now

Posted by: Jenny Location: Reno, Nevada
While it is terrible that a young girl was murdered - too much new time has been spent on one person of means. Maybe we should be warning our teens about going out all night drinking (even with friends). The very young children have been traumatized by this incident. Our children are scared to go to sleep at night. Enough is enough.

To be helpful, the idea that if this were someone of lower stature in the community then no one would care, I feel is not at all true, however Brianna's story will be the cornerstone of the point we identified that this is escalating to: there are no limits this kind of person will go to. Future brianna's or black or asian or indian or etc... will recieve the escalated attention our community is giving and establish a higher normal for the routine of investigating murderous behaivior relative to this nature of crime. This, without the implications that there never has been investigations of this degree is disappointing to everyone and has a negative relationship to finding this perpetrator. Stay focused stay alert, stay committed to our objective. Our ethics will not be compromised. It is a secure and confident feeling when those sworn to an oath fullfill the obligations of this oath and justice prevails. unlike the feeling when another body is discovered."By,for, and of the People"

First of all I pray to God that Brianna's Killer gets caught, and I hope her family finds a way to go on with out her. Furthermore I hope they get the answers they need to move on, but enough is enough. Brianna is not the only young girl who lost her life to unknown circumstances or not the only young beautiful girl who was a victim of a horrible crime. I hope the press and the police realize this. I hope focus in going on all the cases not just Brianna's. Everyone of these girls who lost their lives and/or were victims of crimes are children to greiving and/or heartbroken parents as well. Their killers and perpatrators need to be caught as well. Rest in Peace Brianna.

So, putting out decoys or trying to entice this guy out would basicly be wasting time, he's an opportunist and controls his urges to his own needs. Glenn, does he enjoy reading and observing the attention? Will he fill his urge soon, again? These are average questions but with your elaboration it may help us to be alert for clues. would we expect him to stalk for a victim like parking in a car accross the street or walking by a home several times etc.. would he be clean cut? would he be slow and cunning or jittery. would he be able to carry on a conversation about what he did without alerting any of us to his inside knowledge of details which we are not priviledged to. What do you see in the eyes of a murderer like this? How do you trap key words in conversation and then keep yourself from pointing and screaming "MURDERER!" when you come in contact with him and an overwhelming compulsion to apprehend, only to get the wrong guy?

Doung: I don't think the posts have slowed. In fact, there are probably so many, that for some reason Stewart Campbell is only putting out comments that help the issue. Makes sense, since so much of the posts have turned to nothing but bickering..

CONTINUED--I don't take up for police. If police mess up a homicide investigation I will tell it like it is. Police really messed up the Jonbenet Ramsey case. Police made a bad mistake on the Green River serial killings. Police didn't know what they were doing in the Nona Dirksmeyer case in Arkansas. I happened to profile the case for Russellvile Courier. Nona had won a beauty contest and was going to run for the Miss Arkansas beauty pagent. She was found naked in a pool of blood in her apartment blunt force trauma to the head. Her boyfriend who was going to college at the U of A and was arrested. I profiled the case prior to his arrest and you can read my profile by going to the Russellville Courier search archives for Dirksmeyer. Nona's case was recently on Dateline or 48 hours can't remember which one. I stated in the interview that I had seen terrible investigations by police and questioned RPD experiance at working homicide cases. Russellville had not had a murder in 7 years.

Posted by: Glenn Owen Location: Texas
The reason why I'm interested in Brianna's case is becuase she was a sweet beautiful low risk victim. Brianna is not the only beautiful low risk victim that I've been interested in. For many years I have assessed/profiled murdered cases and have officially worked on several high profile triple murder cases. Some of the cases I've been interested in were not innocent low risk victims for example The Suffolk Strangler. He murdered 5 prostitutes in Ipswich England a few years ago. You can read my profile by searching The Suffolk Strangler...A Profile by crime writer Steve Huff. Compare my profile to the killer who was arrested weeks after I profiled the case. Stacy thousands of homicides cases go unsolved every year. The Original Night Stalker in California raped and murdered many victims in the early 70's and 80's. Police have his dna but have never been able to match it to anyone. Police can't work miracles it's not like CSI you see on TV. But at least we have his dna and that is good.

Posted by: stacy Location: reno
Obviously the police dont have a clue who did this. I am getting sick of people defending the cops. I remember reading in the RGJ about the rape of the girl that was dropped back off at her home. It was a tiny little story I happened to stumble acrosss. I specifically remember thinking, geez dont they believe this girl? Look it up, read it, you will think the same thing I did. I dont think the cops believed her. Apparently they didnt do much about the incident, or more people would have been aware of what happened. It took the death of a young beautiful girl to wake people up. Thats just wrong!!

Posted by: Erika I don't need to have blue ribbons to be supportive of this girl. I keep her in my prayers. The ribbons are a bit much. I think other things could be done for the rape victims NOT just Brianna!

Posted by: Anonymous Monica, get a grip. "she was like your sister and you feel as you loved her" Please~!!!! I feel bad for what happened to her but c'mon. Oh and the ribbons do have to go. They are just making trash all over the place and in a town like Reno where the wind is alwasy blowing the ribbons all over the place are adding more garbage!

Posted by: Doug Location: Sparks
It seems the posts have slowed considerably. Is there some info out there? I suppose paitence is a virtue.

Posted by: Monica Location: Reno
To all the people saying to take the ribbons down. It's not trashy it's a sign of being supportive. This is good. The community is actually coming together. Reno is a great place and I say all of you are supporting this killer to do it again. How is she supposed to rest in peace if he could do this again. She cannot rest in peace. We need to find him and she will not rest until he is. I highly doubt if someone you knew was kidnapped raped and murdered you would want them to take the ribbons down. Some people actually care and this is taking a huge toll on the community for the good and the bad. We need to find him and bring Bri justice. She was a gorgeous girl and I can see why someone would want to do this but i cannot see how they could. I personally never knew her but I feel like she was my sister and I feel as I had loved her. She seems like an amazing girl and some people I know knew her and they are really sad about this whole thing. I dont know about you but I can hardly sleep.

The Department of Justice needs to create a special department within itself that spcecifically focuses on sexual assault and rape investigations. Just like the Justice Department has the Drug Enforcement Agency for illegal narcotics investigations, it needs to have a special department for sexual assault and rape investigations. Present statistics are a s follows: An average of 1 in 6 women report being raped every year. However, seeing as how most rapes are not reported, it is estimated that actually 1 in 4 women are raped every year. And, in the rape cases that are reported, the conviction rate is about 5 or 6 percent. That is a deplorable conviction rate! I believe this low conviction rate is why many women don't report their rapes. They know there will probably be no conviction, so why bother?

Posted by: Glenn Owen Location: Texas
Annoymous if you or anyone else would like to ask me some questions you can e-mail me texasraiders2000@yahoo.com that also applies to you Panty Snatcher. I would love to hear what you have to say. Please don't tell me the devil made you do it. It may take some time before I reply.

Posted by: Glenn Owen Location: Texas
Doug, I don't think The Panty Snatcher has a conscience. He's what they call a associopath. Doesn't care about anyone but himself. Some experts say it's all about control not sex but I disagree. Sex and control is what turns this punk on and the more he does it the more he likes it. Annoymous are you from Texas and what part? I'm from North East Texas not to far from Dallas. I assessed the cases in Madison Ws over the weekend and I don't see a serial killer but two cases, one involveing the latest victim is very simuliar to the young man who was stabbed to death recently. Another female college coed from Green Bay went missing in 2006 and her remains were found 10 miles from where she was abducted, sound familiar? The two stabbing victims in my opinion were killed by a disorganized killer the girl from Green Bay was murdered by a organized killer like our boy The Panty Snatcher. The Panty Snatcher will make a mistake one day and police will match his dna. He could be moveing around???

If men were being raped with such frequency and the coviction rate was that low, I believe most of the Justice Department's investigative resources would be geared toward bringing those rapists to justice.

It was warm today, alot of us were taking in clear and fresh air,all the while I wonder, what kind of a person can even enjoy a day like today without reflecting on their conscience.everyone has a conscience. The emensity of this cruel act is larger than the Murder's conscious capacity. otherwise he would surely do himself harm, or at least fear it and turn himself in. Wouldn't you think? I mean as long as he has a brain and a body temperature above a rattlesnake. angeling my disposition towards his charachter He may be a home grown local, from a bastard family, with some kind of connection that allows him to slither around being just where everyone is not looking. Just speculation, mind you all, maybe his mate isn't very tolerable, and that excuses him to sneak out for his opportunities, also a hidding place."kids shoe on floor".I truely hope he can a least read. "it is not my place to forgive, and I am not likely to forget.

Lay off the Glen Owens guy already. Since when must one be confined to one location to be touched by murder. Enough of this "aren't you from TX?" nonsense. At least he has something to bring to the table other than criticism.

Posted by: mj Location: reno
Kay, can you be more specific about this happening all the time in reno without anyone caring? I really think you're pretty ignorant. maybe pathetic is a better word.

Posted by: kay Location: Reno
I'm sorry about what had happened to her, but if she was black, or poor no one would care and thats the truth. Little children get raped and beaten and get stolen everyday and no one cares. I'm sorry about what happened but honestly i think this was taken too far.

To Leah, it appears you haven't read the rest of this blog, so I will fill you in a little before you make any more unhelpful "comments." The house she was taken from had UNLOCKED doors, which the girls admitted was a frequent occurrence in that house. Secondly, this murder is an OPPORTUNIST who has been attacking women at odd hours of the night since the fall, so it is very probable that Bri had never seen this man before. He may have been watching the house for days prior to her abduction, but that doesn't mean Bri would have ever seen him.

Posted by: Leah Location: Belfast
if she was kiddnapped in the front room of a friends then it has to be some one who knew she was there and/or had a key to get into the house

Posted by: Doug Location: Sparks
That would be the tiny little mistake that we have been anticipating,If this is The Murderer rapist and our enforcment agents are rapidly tending to the details. The blog conversation will turn now, I would presume to Trial and evidence collection,or will there be a hearing to determine the sanity of This derranged and calculating hunter of young women. or would .30 cents for a round of amunition suffice? Well I guess that gets me out of jury duty.

Posted by: Anonymous has anyone seen in the paper that two girls were attached in Lake Tahoe? I just read it in a blog on RGJ. The blogger stated that the DNA is the same from the guy who did this to Bri.

Posted by: Doug Location: Sparks
Many educated and experienced Professional Detectives doing since day one of this event, Brainstorming in think tanks, to isolate every possible option and even some not so possible option , We are here in this Blog to generate or even confirm some of these possibilities. Mr. Owen From Texas has been fortunate ( or maybe not so fortunate) to have studied and developed a "sense" of things related to our Murder's behavior, If we were to utilize his knowledge of these things we could find ourselves in thought of things we have never ventured. our common decency limits our ability to predict outcomes. We honestly do not think of how to outwit cops, we try to abide by the laws of our own Ethics. I and use the word OUR, present company permission requested? If this Murderer is online and reading this, we are limited to not exposing thoughts or movements that would alert or forewarn him. Which places much of the outcome in the "loose lips sink ships!" catagory. God's Armor to you all...

Posted by: Anonymous Glen, Why do you not answer anyones questions on this blog? Stacy has a good point, why do you keep bloggin on this site? Why are you so interested in this case?

Posted by: cory Location: Omaha, NE
The horrible truth is that American parents and schools don't talk to the children enough about abduction and rape. Parents and schools alike should be talking to children regularly about abduction/rape prevention methods and especially date-rape prevention methods. There is a date-rape drug detection device available. It's about the size of a credit card. You stick it into your drink before you drink it. If it turns black, there is a date-rape drug in it. Every young person (especially girls) should have one of these. Plus, every girl and woman should have pepper spray in their purses. EVERY ONE!!! Until parents and schools start to make abduction/rape prevention a priority, young people will continue to be much more vulnerable to abduction and rape. Parents and schools, get on the job! Arm the kids against abduction/rape with knowledge, pepper spray, and date-rape drug detectors!

Posted by: Glenn Owen Location: Texas
MR--Your absolutely right I did state her body would be found 10 to 20 miles from the abduction site. I also stated Bri had most likely been sexually assaulted and murder prior to (weeks) before her body was found. I stated he kept souvenirs and named him The Panty Snatcher. In my opinion Bri's cause of death was ligature strangulation but that's my opinion, No one has reported that. In my opinion blood evidence found on the pillow came from the killer that's my opinion info has not been released. All these comments are my opinion. This is what I do when I assess/profile muder cases. I try to be accurate but it's hard to be accurate just reading news reports and not knowing all the evidence. News on another college coed case I profiled over 3 years ago Johnia Berry. The suspect Taylor Olsen committed suicide in a jail cell yesterday. Left a suicide note claiming his friend murdered Johnia. To read my profile of the killer search A Knoxville Mystery part 3 by Steve Huff.

Posted by: cory Location: Omaha, NE
I'm afraid we just can't protect people who don't take measures to protect themselves. I just read about a woman in South Carolina who was raped by a man running a fake taxi scam. She got in his cab then said he needed to take care of something and drove her to his home and asked her to go inside his home with him...and she went! Once inside, he raped her. I would never go in some strange cab driver's house, and I'm a guy! Then I read about a female college student in Kansas who was raped by a man who broke in through the back door of the house. By her on admission, the back door was in serious need of repair. If you are a young woman, you have to get things like that taken care of ASAP! I know I would and, again, I'm a guy! I am not blaming victims, here, I'm jus saying young women have to be extra-vigilant when it comes to their personal safety. They are their own first line of defense. Rapists are always watching. Young women ALWAYS have to be on guard.

Glen Owen, you said in one of your posts "our killer" I thought you were from Texas. I have detective friends and they usually keep their mouths shut but you go on and on about this case. You just dont sound like a profiler to me. Do you blog on other sites on murders in other cities and states. I am just wondering what has drawn you so close to this case. You have been spending a lot of time on this since day one trying to convince everyone here in Reno how smart you are. I just dont understand you.

I agree with you Doug. This scum of the earth will be caught.

Posted by: Ken Location: Reno
Michelle, I know what you mean.I have been doing the same thing.Thats how we are going to find him by looking every were we can.Good job keep going.

ok for all of you who hate the idea of the ribbons (give me a break!), do you remember when family of bri said to take the ribbons down on the day of her funeral well....i read somewhere that she will be buried on her bday next to her dad at an undisclosed location....so if you still want to keep them up its yr choice but as for anyone who really doesnt like them , go ahead and take them down but not TILL MARCH 29TH!!there does that end the ribbon discussion, i sure hope so...R.I.P. BRIANNA, YR ALWAYS IN OUR MINDS AND HEARTS FOREVER!!

Posted by: Anon Location: Reno
Alisha, Use your head. You don't have to be partying to get raped. Yes, it may make you more vulnerable at times, but people get abducted in the middle of the day as well who don't drink. One of the attempted victims was walking down the street at 4:30 in the afternoon and I can imagine she hadn't been drinking. Don't think just because you aren't partying at night that you aren't at risk yourself to be a victim. Stop blaming the victim. Stop your hurtful comments..no one can do anything to deserve being raped and murdered. Last, be careful as you are at risk yourself.

Posted by: Michelle Location: Reno
I am so frustrated! Would it be trespassing if I started peering into the windows of parked SUVs and pickup trucks? When I see trucks go by, or peer into the drivers side while at a stop light, the trucks are so much taller, that I feel like if the killer was next to me, I wouldn't even know it! I want to find this scum bag, NOW!!

Posted by: mj Location: reno
I heard they slightly changed the suspects description. He could be as tall as 6'3''. I'm sure this will get people to start thinking about other people. Hopefully he'll be off the street soon.

Posted by: MR Location: Reno
Glenn Owen, It looks like you are given to much information!!!! How would you know that Bri would be found 10 to 20 miles alway? You also post a lot of ads on this and you keep saying that the killer is keeping up with the news and updates on the case just like you are!!!!! are you sure that you are from Taxes and that is your name?

If this were an isolated one time abduction, assault, murder, and no one else had been assaulted, Yeah, maybe I could believe this worm, weavle, parasite was just passing through and she was the unlucky victim of a random event, but , NO! this (Puke Bag) is here . he is right in the thick of our humble "biggest little city in the world" and he has a stench about him. Some of the finest blood hounds in the world are gonna sniff him out , it may make a couple of us uncomfortable, but a sacrifice so small for an achievement so great. So to you "Murderer, run, hide get comfortable, live in your euphoria. This is over when the outcome is Justice, for all. Your freedom, Murderer, your just a simple little mistake away from captivity. Honestly, think of it , How many murderer rapists are standing next to you any of you . right now. thats right, possibly one, and I know who is not. everybody do your homework and lets eliminate this to it's lowest denominator. he's there and we will find him.

Alisha: Your comment was way out of line!!!

Posted by: Cory Location: Omaha, NE
Rae, here is the beginning of the story you referred to about the girl in Santa Monica found dead in her apartment as reported by alaskareport.com. This girl was a stripper. When you deal in that environment, God only knows what kind of degenerates you will attract. Juliana Redding, an aspiring model from Arizona, was found dead inside her Santa Monica apartment on Sunday morning. Cops are investigating the death of the 21-year-old model/stripper whose body was found at about 6:10 p.m. by officers from the Santa Monica Police Department.

Shut up "r" The blue ribbons that are up now are enough. In fact they are too much. I have better things to do then just keep thinking about what happened. Pray for her that's what you need to do. Get on with your life! Life it too precious and short to just live in fear.

Posted by: Tee Location: surrounding area
I looked up the article on the 21 yr. old, found dead in Santa Monica, Juliana Redding. People need to look at her picture, it looks like Brianna, so much so it made the hair on my neck stand up. I am sure the police are in looking into it, it seems too similar, or an odd coincidence, based on looks and the fact that she was found to have been sexually assalted. Well at least people can start thinking about who they know who might have gone to Santa Monica, or the Los Angeles area, recently. DNA was taken from the sidewalk outside according to the article, hopefully the killer's DNA was present.

Posted by: Glenn Owen Location: Texas
Thanks Ken for those kind comments. Next time please add OLD dumb cold man. NV working girls are not good enough for this scum bag. He likes them young and innocent and he likes to control them. It's all part of his sexual fantasie that he thinks about all the time. The more he thinks about it the more he gets turned on until he can't control his urge. Then the urge takes over and when that happens he makes mistakes. Police have never reported this but our boy likes bondage. You can bet he used restraints on Bri and ligature strangulation imo was the mode of death. As time goes by our killer gets better at the art of killing and abduction. Practice makes perfect is the old saying and it applies to serial rapist/killers. Your absolutely right Ken the reason why I post on this site is to keep people talking and aware they have an organized killers on the loose. I do it on all the murder cases I profile. It also an educational tool for some because this is not my first Bar Beque.

Terrance Hofus, 44, was arrested Sunday near the Park Lane movie theater following a law enforcement sting operation. A criminal complaint says Hofus was waiting on a bench and appeared to be responding to a text message sent by an FBI agent who posed as the 14-year-old girl. Authorities say two eighth-grade girls from Sparks somehow began text messaging Hofus, believing he was a 15-year-old boy named Trevor. At one point the girls sent nude photos of themselves. Investigators say the suspect then threatened to post the photos on the Internet if they didn't meet him for sex. KOLO NEWS

Enough about the ribbons! They are reminders not only of a loss of an innocent life but personal safety. All too often cases like this die off and it happens again and I hope all of Reno keeps replacing the blue ribbons until Bri and her family gets the justice they deserve. I also hope Reno keeps the yellow ribbons to remind us that our loved ones are in harms way and fighting a war. No ribbon is more important than any other...we all know yellow is for our troops, pink is for breast cancer and blue is for Bri, her family, friends and our community. If the blue ribbons look trashy I suggest we remove and replace them with new blue ribbons until this man is in prison! Is that so hard to do? I know that when I see a blue ribbon I am reminded of an innocent girl and a case not yet solved and I know it hasn't been forgotten. Ribbons are reminders and we must remind those of things that are still there. The war is still here, breast cancer is still here and Bri still hasn't gotten justice.

Posted by: r we need to put up more blue ribbons, poster, anything and keep her spirit alive and keep people talking and looking. We can not forget as a community. We can not let one person bet us.

There was a 21 yr old female from Santa Monica found dead due to blunt trauma w/o forced entry. She appears to have a similar appearance to Brianna. The story is on foxnews.com. Just another possible correlation?????

What about doing DNA on guys in that age range that have passed on due to suicide between the night Brianna was kidnapped and now.

As time goes by and no one is arrested for the brutal murder of Brianna people start to get very frustrated. That's understandable and you can see it on this web site. It happens in every high profile murder case and it's understandable. People need to understand NO one can work miracles on these type of cases. It may take months or years before the killer messes up and police can match his dna. Their is a possibility his dna will never be matched but I doubt that will happen. Remember he has a problem with his sexual URGE. But at least we have his dna. In many cases we don't have any dna that can link a killer to a murder and be able to prove his guilt beyond reasonable doubt. If this killer is ever caught you can stick a fork in his butts he's done! People need to know our killer may have moved on to another college university because he's real hot in Reno. Remember organized killers are smarter than disorganized killers and keep up with the investigation and media reports.

That is enough!!! With the Blue Ribbons. This is childish and f--- rude. This site should be use for words of wisdoms and maybe some words of advice to catch this fucking asshole who wouldn't give a second thought to killing you or your loved ones to get away. Here we are yelling at each about some fucking blue ribbons. Shut up!!! We need to stand up and let this MURDERER know we will not FORGET what you DID!! And if that mean we have to be reminded of her murder every day with the ribbon OH WELL, but every time he steps out his house and see the color blue or the ribbon blue it will remind him that he was in the wrong .STOP being so DAMN petty. Try looking at the BIG PICTURE it is not the battle but the war we want to win. I wish that was the only thing I had to worry about. I as a female have to worry about this sicko coming after me or the female in my family. I ‘ll be damn, Try putting yourself in the position of a female and have to change everything you know as normal on hold

It just makes me sick to hear all these negative comments made about bri's disappearanceand murder If it was their relative I hope they would be doing all they could to find her or him. Some people are just so self centered. This has been a major tragedy in Reno. I do believe the killer is probably blogging on this site, if you are, burn in hell, you will be caught!!

Posted by: brit Location: reno
TRASH???TRASH??? NO the blue ribbons do NOT look trashy AT ALL. To whomever keeps saying we need to take them down, is probably the a**hole who did this to her. These ribbons have NOTHING to do with soldiers...nobody ever said we forgot about our soldiers over seas, but this has nothing to do with them. It has to do with an innocent girl who was brutally raped and murdered and the fact uis we need to remember that he is still out there. I for one hink the ribbons are beautiful and if i ever see anyone taking them down, you bet yoru ass i will say something to them and go and put one right back up in its place!

SHAME ON EVERYONE HERE.

Posted by: Anon Location: Reno
Wow...some of you have flipped your lid. The blue ribbons comparison to the yellow ribbons is so ridiculously off base. Just wait until your daughter, wife, girlfriend, relative etc. is the next victim. I still would venture to say the weird comments coming in about taking them down and comparing them to yellow ribbons and other comments are coming from the murderer. I don't think anyone else could be so cold.

I agree California - TAKE DOWN THE BLUE RIBBONS! HAVING THEM IS NOT GOING TO BRING BRIANNA BACK. let her rest in peace. Put up yellow ribbons for out troops who are dying for our freedom. I can't belive that we have forgotten about them so soon.

Posted by: Rose you in Calif: are they in California? Why are you worried about what we do in Nevada?

I don't see how Brianna could have knew her attacker, since he is tied to 2 (or is it 3?) other attacks...she lived in Reno, yes, but was here on winter break. I believe that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time. This monster should burn in hell, but I read that if he truly believes in Christ, then he will be forgiven..why would God forgive a murderer? The SOB deserves to rot in Hell, not spend eternity in Heaven.

Posted by: Mark Location: Reno
To California...Brianna is resting in peace. The blue ribbons are not there to keep Bri from resting. The blue ribbons are there to keep Bri in our thoughts and to remind everyone to be vigilant int the efforts to find Bri's killer. The sooner those ribbons come down, the sooner the community might forget and lower their guard. The ribbons remind all of us to remember, learn and fight. This creature stole Bri and stole a little more of this community's innocence. As long as Bri's memory reminds us to keep searching the sooner this creature will be caught. If anything is keeping Bri from resting in peace is her knowledge that her killer still walks free among us. I've said enough and I need to go add some more blue ribbons to our community.

Posted by: Anonymous i agree....take em down.

This is not just about Brianna! This is not just about blue ribbions!Or about what God will do to this man when he dies!It is about a sick person who needs to get off the streets of Reno. This is a place for people to have fun enjoy there young live's,and go home safe!So stop with the God stuff,For if you knew the Bible at all you would know God would not let this go!

Posted by: Anonymous Location: Reno
The blue ribbons do not need to come down. They are there to serve as a reminder to Bri's killer that this community as a whole will not rest until she is given justice. They also servel as a reminder to all young women to be careful and aware of their surroundings. It is easy for most young women to go on with their lives and become overly comfortable in their surroundings even this soon after such a brutal attack on one of their peers. By keeping the blue ribbons up hopefully we can keep another college aged girl from becoming his next victim. Please stop complaining about the blue ribbons... if you hate them so much, then by all means don't put any up on your own property. As for the rest of us, we will continue to place blue ribbons as a reminder to the friends and family of Bri that they are in our hearts.

It is too bad that we allow criminals to treat innocent humans like trash, not unlike an old MacDonald’s wrapper, used and thrown out the door when they are finished. If we, as an evolved society, would send the message that this behavior and treatment of other humans was not acceptable and those violations such as this result in the permanent and instant removal from society, I’m talking death sentence here, then there wouldn’t be crowded jails and repeat offenders. When you take the wrong choices away people will make the right choices. Currently it is like living in the wild, competing by physical violence to gain territory or breading rights.

Let Brianna rest in peace. Enought of the blue ribbions. Let the police do their job. TAKE DOWN THE BLUE RIBBIONS

Posted by: Susan Location: Reno
This whole thing is sad. Especially the events of this young woman's death. I honestly believe she knew her attacker. I don't think she was a victim of a random or serial murder. For some reason I believe her killer was very close to her. When the blue ribbons first came out I could't help but wonder if anyone had ever combed her hair and placed ribbons in it. Then I wondered if she knew Jesus. I wondered how many times she was told she was loved and I wondered if she knew how beautiful she really was. I don't mean on the outside only but on the inside of her soul. Life is precious. I believe in life after death and I believe in heaven very much. Her killer will get to see Justice some day. And the Bible says that it would be better for him to have a millstone tied around his neck and cast into the sea than to hurt one child that belongs to HIM. Regardless her killer won't get away with this crime. Peace p.s. A millstone weighs approx 1000 lbs

To everyone posting, Keep your kind words coming. I really enjoy reading and posting on this blog. Has anyone considered that the person who keeps writing negative things about race, and blue ribbions might as well be the killer? Everyone feels this sicko likes the attention he is getting. The people who write such mean things on here are looking for the same thing the killer is, a reaction. I am proposing that we stop commenting on stupid remarks and ignore them. Stop giving these idiots the attention they crave. I think the Denison family knows how the people of Reno feel about this crime. They have had so much support from complete strangers,They do not need us to defended them against a few morons (Like, 1 out of 100 who dislikes the blue ribbons). Lets not comment on dumb people anymore.

I would hate to think that there is an outside video camera somewhere in that neighborhood that recorded the event but has gone undetected. My Wife has an infrared night view camera set up outside our front door due to all the thefts that take place in our neighborhood and it has worked very well in viewing the activities of people in our yard that do not belong there. It would just be Luck if there would be one of similar description in that area, but no one knows it is there or believes it not to be helpful.

Anonymous...I'm glad you took the time to rant and rave about something like this, but thats what Craigslist is for. Are you that kind of a person, the one who needs another person to wipe your a$$?? Its really not that hard to pick up these posters and ribbons yourself. Perhaps, instead of spending your free time blogging and complaining, You could, I dont know, have some respect for what has happened to the Denison family. Im not sure if you realize how much of a jackass you sounded like. It really sounds like a personal problem to me, Im sure youre just mad because the old posters ended up in front of your house, people may have mistaken it for a dump sight while hanging up the new ones. Just a thought. So instead of bloggin away, I think that you sould take the 3 minutes it took you to type that, and possibly contribute to the hard work people put into tying to bring Brianna home, and all the hardwork that we have done to make sure she is not forgotten. Have a nice day.

Hey anonymous, way to miss what's important. This girl was murdered and you're annoyed that our community's way of remembering her is causing some litter? Then you think that it should be up to her grieving family and friends should go around town and clean them all up? I've never posted anything on any blog but your heartless comment merits a response. I hope your happy with yourself and your ridiculous way of looking at this tragic situation. Litter? Slap yourself.

The Organized Killer follows reports of his crimes in the media and changes jobs or moves to a different city when he beleives he may be detected. The mad dog killers of Eve Carson and Lauren Burk have been arrested. All three of these idiots were disorganized killers. See how stupid disorganized killers are compared to organized killers. The Panty Snatcher is not stupid and is very bold. He's aware of his growing compulsion to act out his murderous sexual desrires. He will typically use restraints on his victims and bring a weapon with him , which he will then take with him when he leaves. WHEN YOUR HOT YOUR HOT WHEN YOUR NOT YOUR NOT. THE PANTY SNATCHER IS HOT HOT HOT IN RENO. He may have located to another city near another unversity in order to full fill his sexual muderous desires. He will blend into society very well may be married and could even have children. We just don't know at this time. Just remeber one thing Panty Snatcher. WE HAVE YOUR DNA!!!!

It's to bad serial rapists dont just target sensitive people like you.

Why in all of these kinds of situations do people start ripping on the police? I have no family that are cops, so it is not a personal issue with me, but I do feel upset that people always blame the cops. I feel they are doing the best they can and need our support. Most of them I am sure also have wives, daughters, friends, etc. who are at risk and want him just as bad as the rest of us. Put the blame back on the murderer. It is not the victim's fault, her friends' fault, nor the cops fault. They need our support.

It's sad to say but maybe if someone is afraid to turn him in, they will be tempted if the reward was much bigger. I don't know if Dateline and other shows are paying family members but if so maybe it would be worth it to put the money towards Brianna's reward and see it that might convince someone to turn him in. I know the shows are helping get the word out but maybe they could make a donation.

Ezekiel, your an idiot. I have NEVER heard of a family complain that the media didnt help them to find their missing loved one. So it is up the the family and friends to push as hard as they can, you dont sit back and let it happen all by itself. Bri's family loved her and she had many many friends. That is why this got media attention. You better hope this never happens to someone you love because obviously you wouldnt care enough to try and find them. Why dont you grow up and quit making this a race issue. Have you watched the news lately there is a Black man winning the democratic race for president. The race card is a dead issue!!

You will be thinking differently if someone you love is the next victim.

I bet the coward killer just loves sitting back and reading these emails.. all the attention he gets, he probably responds to most of them. I think a cop should go undercover and walk down the street close to the area where he commits his cowardly acts and maybe he will try to kidnap the cop, who should tase his *** , why not, they go undercover to get drug dealers don't they? Hope your reading this today Mr. Killer... You must feel horrible, doesn't your heart get to you? You know you want to turn yourself in, someone already knows who you are and will probably get brave enough to turn you in anyway.. how can you live with yourself every single day? Come on Reno P.D.!!! Go undercover.... catch him... walk the streets, he will strike again and then you got him!

Posted by: Ray What happened to my comment re: the fact that this guy needs to "cool off"? Am I being censored? To ezekiel and all others who ahve made this about race... STOP!!!!!!!!!!! There are reasons why this got the coverage it did... It was because of the way she was taken and the brutality of it. Also she has a family who contacted every person they could think of to get the word out to find her. They WORKED HARD to let the public know. So go play your petty race card antics some where else. A beaautiful young life was taken, and I as a mom who lost her 18 year old daughter less than a year ago would have been as sympathetic to ANYONE of ANY RACE if the same thing hapened to them. Great job to the family for never giving up and to Brianna I hope you can rest in peace.

Posted by: Deb Location: California
Poople often mention the unlocked door. It is possible that he could have stolen keys and let himself in.

Posted by: Mark I think Bri becoming the victim was just a fluke. With the discovery of the pink underwear, it becomes obvious that this guy was stalking the other girls in the house. Remember he had been lurking for about a month and just waiting for the right time. The house was left unlocked as a matter of routine. The interviews show this house had a very open door policy for the common areas and only locks on the bedrooms - very similar to a sorority. So this guy watches and waits and when it came time to strike, Brianna was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. From what it sounds like, Brianna's stay over was never planned and they just ended up there at the end of a night of partying. Why go after someone in a locked room when there is an easier target completely unguarded? As for the dog, he was probably used to the open door policy of people coming and going. No doubt that there was some drinking involved and that would cause everyone to sleep really deep.

Posted by: Michelle Location: Sparks
You suck Ezekiel. Have you no heart? The media coverage has been outstanding. Stop playing the race card! If this had happened to a black women, Reno would feel the same. Look at the circumstances. So unusual, so unfair. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think it's part of what has drawn Reno together. Not her skin color, family closeness, etc. She was just starting out in life, stayed at a friends house (whose door was unlocked, and front door was all glass with no curtain - NOT Brianna's responsibility), and was kidnapped, strangled and dumped in a field. She was petite, so next to her killer, its sad that she likely couldn't defend her self. You're really dumb, because the blue ribbons are there for remembrance. Obviously they won't single handedly catch the killer. We must not forget Brianna, because in doing so, this will help us remember what has happened and hopefully bring justice to her family and the community. We aren't going to pretend this never happened!!!

Posted by: Ray Location: Sparks
Re: my last post. I referenced www.seansellers.com because he was a 16 year old boy who commited 3 murders and there was a lot of media confusion over them calling him a serial killer. The legal arguement that gave him the death sentence was the fact that he "cooled off" before he killed again. If I'm confusing you, I'm sorry, but the Brianna story is very important to me and I want to catch this guy, too, but it's going to take a novel approach if you want to catch him fast. Stop talking about him: he'll do it again, and if not, then go on. He's not a Rock Star. RPD has a chance to catch him: don't delay their efforts by shouting at world. Sorry about being so mouthful.

Posted by: Ray Location: Sparks
This guy is NOT a serial rapist/killer. At least not yet. A serial rapist/killer commits their acts and then, after a "cooling off period" commits them again. That is the definition and you can read more about it at www.seansellers.com (you will have to drill down to find the info, but it is very real). So in that vein, our attention to the manhunt puts this guy into a forced "cooling off period." Because of that attention, what could have taken only months may take years, even longer. If this guy has the urge to do it again, we have spoiled it by making him famous. His urge is slightly-supressed and he will strike again (but you will never know when or where, or even how). I wish RPD would just "get smart" and "think about it". If you want to catch this guy, you need to use an illusion in the media and get the bastard captured. Instead, you have turned him into a Rock Star and it sucks because he is laughing at you until he works the nerve to strike again.

Posted by: Tacoa Location: Reno
Ezekiel, how dare you place race issue on the death of this child? You are out of line. No matter what Reno is a small community and we stick together no matter what race they are! If you have proof of a murder of women that did not get the same attention as Ms Denison in Reno because of her skin color or her “status" I would like the proof. It is people like you that keep mess up. Stop living in the past and remember Ms Denison life was TAKEN away. Did you hear what I said her LIFE not her skin color or her money But her LIFE. Her mother will never meet her grandchildren or her son in law. They will never see their daughter again, put yourself in their shoes. What if that was your mother, sister, aunt or niece God forbids your own flesh and blood your Daughter. How would you feel if some threw the race card on her death? Grow up, and this is coming from an African American women.

I feel horrible for the girls that lived in the house. Do some of the people that are posting here realize that they too have suffered a traumatic event in their life? They went out and had a good time as friends, something most of of us have done in when we were that age. Their best friend is no longer with them, I can't imagine what they may be feeling too. The police obviously have done everything and said they had nothing to do with it so why all the negativity about these girls. This could have happened to anyone, especially when you're dealing with a sick person. I've read blogs and comments that have not been very nice when it comes to the gals in the house. Give me a break, were you not young once? Maybe the guy was hiding in the house already and the door wasn't really unlocked. Maybe she opened it because it was somebody she knew or met that weekend. Alot of maybe's but why make these girls feel like they are guilty. Instead come up with some ideas that maybe

For the RPD to rule out the last person she was seen with and whos DNA was found at the crime scene, seems a little absurd to me. Who locks themselves in their room and leaves their friend on an uncomfortable couch with a thin little pillow? Not anyone I'd consider a friend. I think we should look a little harder into the background of this so called "friend" She knows more than she is letting on. Remember in the beginning Scott Petterson was also "RULED OUT" until more info on his hidden lifestyle came out.

The media coverage is ridiculous. This would have never happened if the victim was of color, didn't have money, or had a well connected family. Also this making her out to be the patron saint of reno is a bit much. How are blue ribbons going to help us catch this guy?

"R" to answer your question they have ruled out every girl who was in the house.

I think, what the new pink underwear mean, is that this guy had been in the house before. Maybe that is why he knew the door would be unlocked. I think he did have his eye on the house. I wonder what time of day the house is empty? If it is during the day.... Maybe a UPS or postal worker delivered a package and the door was unlocked and he snoped around. Took only a pair of underwear, so that nobody would notice and put up thier gaurd. Then he planned to come back. When the other victim was not home(the one he tried to break into) he got really desperate and went back and got lucky. I have a feeling he was watching the house. Mackay residents, did you notice anyone or receive a package? Order anything online recently? I hope the police are asking these questions already, I am just a civilian with common sence.

I would like to commend all the people that are standing up to the ribbon haters! How can someone be so uncaring, everyone put up more ribbons!!! After seeing the last blog asking for the people that attended the party, I have thought since day one, did Bri meet someone and ask them to meet her back at the house, and that is why the door was left open? I am not indicating that Bri was anything other than a young girl, but sometimes you meet someone and you let them in, with good intentions! There are so many things that led up to this horrible tragedy, any possibility is worth looking at at this point. I would like to know more about the guy that tried to abduct some young woman w/in the last week? Why would someone try that at a time like this, he had some nerve, or a compulsion he couldn't control? Who is he? And where is he? Keep putting up the ribbons, for Bri, for soldiers, for cancer, for whatever the hell you want to, just keep reminding people with the colors!!!!!!!

I just heard on the news that they found another pair of panties at the place her body was found. They are asking for anyone who has had panties stolen to report it. My old neighbor who lived next to me (in the same area that all the recent crimes have been committed) about 6 or 7 years ago had her place ransacked while she was out of town and the guy took every piece underwear she owned. He took some other things like tools and her medicine cabinet mirror right out of the metal door that holds it, but the strangest thing was the underwear. There were fingerprints left but the police didn't take them. Also a friend of mine's daughter had underwear stolen from a laundromat in South reno but that was about 5 or 6 years ago. I still think this guy has been up to stuff for quite awhile, and now it has progressed to rape and more recently murder.

Posted by: R with the new news about the underwear, so that means that one of the girls who she stayed with at the house, KNOWS WHO DID THIS? Is that what the news is saying? Could this girl have something to do with her murder? Jealous? Have they interviewed this girl?

...why would you even post something like that in here? a family and tons of others are grieving over the loss of a loved one, a loss of a life in general, and all you can negatively think of is how tired of the ribbons you are. what you might want to think about next is about how selfish and inconsiderate you were being when you posted that on this blog. maybe they should start an anti-positive, anti-brianna or anti-love for brianna blog for people that feel like posting negative crap about things like ribbons and how annoying it is to see them. and then you could blog-away about how miserable you are without having to conceal that fact by bashing ribbons that serve as a reminder of several things, mainly the passing of a life. please show some respect next time...............

he may even like the blue ribbons, you know, the constant reminder of just how popular he finally is-wrong way to become famous~loser, and how beautiful she is-was and always will be~too bad she wouldnt've looked twice in y
