In the back of our minds we all hope that the coming year will be better than the one we leave behind.

Truth is, in most cases we are the masters of our destiny.

The other telling truth is that in most cases, we fail dismally when it comes to New Year's Resolutions.

Sure, come that first day of January, you'll see people everywhere pounding the pavement, brandishing their pristine new season joggers, a boot camp mentality, and a steeley determination.

As admirable as that is, you can be pretty sure that once the reality of the work-a-day world kicks in again, we start to make mental notes to self like, "I'll start again on Monday".

Before we know it, it's Easter, then tax time, work and family commitments engulf us and we start making comments such as "Wow, this year has just flown by!"

Before falling asleep on New Years Day, I remember mumbling to my girlfriend that for my 2008 resolutions i would be working on my health and fitness, family, friends and at the top of my 'to do list', save as many pennies as possible.

So what about you?

Perhaps you want to lose a little weight, pay off debt, save money, drink less alcohol, quit smoking, reduce stress, take a holiday, help others?

Have you vowed to make this year the year to learn something new?

Perhaps you are considering a career change, want to learn a new language?

Whatever it is, I would love to hear about it.

Good Luck to all and may i wish you a very happy 2008.

My new year's resolution this year is to loose all the extra weight. Since this is my last year in my 20's I don't want to start my 30's being overweight and miserable. I want to be healthy and happy.

I shall be aiming to go to bed before midnight; this was also my, unsuccessful, resolution last year, but I didn't fully use the force of my own mind to help me achieve it. More sleep should help me to be a less grumpy and more energetic mummy and maybe a more responsive and thoughtful wife and friend.

My New Year Resolution is to try and do things today rather than say 'I'll do it tomorrow'. My study is a mess and I need to tidy it up to see what I can do today! Have a wonderfully tidy and organized and happy 2008.

My resolution for 2008 is to be a better husband, and friend. I will listen more carefully, and I shall be agressive in my fitness training. I will record an album, and write the first chpter to my book. I will get my Real Estate license out of Ice and get my career back on track. Most importanlty, I shall seek God. And learn to hear what is being said to me.
