So the other day I made a comment on the air to Eric Sperling. It was right after he showed highlights of both Tom Brady and Luke Lippincott walking off the field after blowing out their knees. And I thought; dang, those guys are tough.
Fast-forward one day and go to the Starlite Ballroom studios on Longley and McCarran.
While it’s a different discipline, I’m learning just how much of a sport competitive dancing is. My partner Michael Pyles has had to deal with lifting me and throwing me (we removed that because I think he enjoyed that just a tad too much) and never complains. Okay. He does that probably a dozen times a practice. Our choreographer Jeffrey Lynn is a tiny, petite woman who is partnered up with Reno Toyota’s Steve Katzmann. He lifted her the other day and she pulled a muscle around her rib. She kept dancing. Okay. Then, it happened to me.
Just yesterday, the Wednesday before our competition on Sunday… I felt something. It did NOT feel good. And it was around my rib. I went to the doctor today who said I dislocated it. He put the rib back into place and said “you’d better not dance for a few days.” To which, I said “I’ll probably see you Monday.” |
