On June 15, 2008, 20-year-old Bryan Coursey was outside a bar near 4th and Spokane in Reno. A fight happened nearby -- when gun fire rang out, an innocent bystander was struck by a bullet in the head. Days later, Bryan Coursey died in a hospital. For more than a year now, Bryan's family has been on a mission for justice. Throughout the past year, I've stayed in contact with Bryan's aunt, Tanya Coursey, and his sister, Bobbi Vesco. Despite such an incredible loss, the family is relying on their faith to stay strong and remain dedicated to seeing Bryan's murder solved. In December, the family sold wrist bands and t-shirts at North Valleys High School -- where Bryan was an all-star on the basketball court. The family's fundraising efforts brought in $6,000. It's being offered as a reward for information leading to an arrest in this still unsolved case. That amount is offered in addition to the Secret Witness reward of $2,500. Police have named Arnulfo Carrillo and Cesar Garcia as suspects in the case. View their pictures at: http://www.bryancoursey.com. Now, the family is holding another fundraiser this Saturday, June 20. Bryan's family and friends will be washing cars and holding a bake sale outside O'Brien Middle School on Stead Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are hoping you will show up and help them futher increase the reward and some day get justice for Bryan. Secret Witness Tipline: 322-4900 -- They don't need your name, just your information. |
