In the summer of '06 and I came across this email from KOLO 8 Sports Director Eric Sperling, who was looking for a sports intern. This was an oppurtunity that I couldn't pass up but I also thought that there would a few people wanting the position, but that was not the case. A position I thought was going to be hard to get has completely changed my life.

The story begins with the Fernley football team and a kid named Dale Ray Proctor. He would have a huge night a gain Caravan attention. Since his name has a resemblence to mine it prompted Josh and Eric to start calling me Dale Ray. The name would slowly make its way around the newsroom, which led to the first mention of it on KOLO tv.

It was sometime in November, I was at the North Valleys/Galena Game with Josh Little. If that doesnt ring a bell it was the day of the coat drive. Josh is out live at the coat drive telling people to bring coats out to the game look for our intern Dale Ray, during his final hit in the 630 show the weather turned really cold and I was freezing. Ironic to think, that we are hosting a coat drive and Im out there collecting coats just completely freezing, go ahead laugh it is pretty funny.

Ever since then I have been a weekly part of the Sports Caravan. Even making my first appearance in the 2007 Sports Caravan Football Award Show. Well that is the story of has kid that was simply known as sports intern until the Sports Caravan made light of me as Dale Ray...
